Students will be able to tell basic vocabulary of family members in Chinese (dad, mum. grandpa, grandma, older brother, older sister, younger brother, younger sister, uncle and aunt). As for other Chinese vocabulary of family members either on father’s side or mother’s side, they are are optional, and will be introduced culturally, but not tested.

Through this unit, students will be able to identify miscellaneous items they can buy in relation to the names of the shops. They will be able to ask and answer questions for shopping at a stationary store in Arabic. They can also use the American currency to tell and ask about the price.

The two Units are mainly focusing on the daily routine and domestic activities. Students will revise the pronouns , conjugations of the verbs. Furthermore, they also revise the days of the week as well as some verbs they can use to form sentences. Students will be able to talk about their domestic activities and their daily routine. They will also be able to get the conjugations of different verbs in relation to the pronoun being used in the sentence.

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to Talk about the feasts in the Arab world Learn about so many social aspects in the Arab countries like family ties for example. Compare the feasts in both countries. e.g. Egypt and the US Greet other people in Arabic Use the new language items in order to use them to communicate with other people. Describe the feasts and events in both countries in Arabic. Translate words into Arabic. Practice writing in cursive way.
