Yasser Beshay is from Assiut, Egypt. He received his bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Assiut University. He has been a teacher at the Assiut STEM School since 2017 and has designed STEM curricula. He is also a tutor of TOEFL, IELTS (International English Language Testing System), and General English in E-Planet Organization (Axon). He enjoys reading, playing piano and guitar. He has a wife and two children (grades 2 and 7). During his year in the U.S., he is looking forward to meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, celebrating different national occasions, sharing his cultural holidays with his students, and developing his teaching profession in the U.S. His primary objectives for participating in TCLP are to enhance his teaching experience, learn from the American methodologies applied in American schools, and to enjoy the experience of teaching Arabic to English-speaking students. He hopes this will be a great learning experience and he will be able to apply what he learns in Egypt. He will be hosted by Theodore Roosevelt High School in Washington D.C.
