Deadline Date:

Zou Feili (Bodine High School for International Affairs, 2018-2019) and Kasey Trapp (Bodine High School for International Affairs, 2018-2019) received a CLP grant to hold a "Lunar New Year Celebration." The project will be an after-school event open to all students and faculty members at Bodine High School for International Affairs. The event will primarily be organized and implemented by current Chinese 2 students. Chinese 2 students will not only prepare for the event in learning more about Chinese language, culture, and history in the classroom, but they will also be responsible for decorations, set-up of the event, and running each of the activity stations. The project is meant to enhance students' understanding of Mandarin through cultural connections and encourage a deeper connection with the language itself through culture. The Lunar New Year Celebration will increase students' investment in continuing to take Mandarin, thereby further empowering them in the future to become successful in today's continuously globalizing world and the global market.
